  I think Nick Shriner is a fantastic choice. I fully expect Coach N Shriner to lay a solid foundation and build a great program at Sanderson. Sanderson has been the top Cap8 team year in and year out and expect the newest Coach Shriner to keep the momentum going. I am excited to see Sanderson make such excellent hire.

  I stand corrected. Just about the time I was posting this, the announcement was placed that Nic Shriner is the new Sanderson Coach. He is the son of Bob Shriner and a recent App State Graduate.

  The new coach has already been working on scheduling and is full steam a head. My guess is NOBODY will complain with the selection of the new coach.

  The Sanderson Wrestling Facebook page is reporting that the coach has been hired. Still no official verification on either the Sanderson Wrestling webpage or the Sanderson HS page.

  Still waiting for Sanderson to name their new coach. The Athletic Director said that they hoped to be able to announce the appointment in the upcoming week.

  Dustin Stewart takes over at Wakefield this season. A first time head varsity with an outstanding background in the sport. I look for him to build that program quickly.

  I hear Sanderson is getting a legendary name to lead their program. I haven't seen it published so I will not mention the name, but I think it is an absolutely EXCELLENT choice! Look for great things at Sanderson in the future.

  Coach Baird will lead Friendship High School in their inaugural season. He seems to be building a solid foundation for the new program. With the things I'm hearing I expect Friendship will have solid team sooner rather than later. Yes, we know they will have a lot of growing pains, but it is nice to see another good program taking shape.

  Who is the coach at Athens Drive? I hope whoever it is can keep the program moving in the right direction. They were hit hard by graduation but had a solid team returning.

  Let me rephrase this. Sanderson is looking for a new head coach. Coach Johnson made it clear that he would not be able to carry out the duties next year. He has posted an announcement on the NC Wrestling Forum, stating such.

  I hear Chip Bunn is back as head coach at Green Hope. Hopefully he can turn that program back around. He has a few good wrestlers and a fair amount of kids in the program. Give him a couple of years and hopefully he will have them back as a competitive team.
