    I think Coach Nick Shriner is a perfect fit for Sanderson. Given some time to develop the program and allow for the wrestlers to be in his system for a few seasons I feel he will do an excellent job. While the cupboard is certainly not bare for Shiner and the Spartans, leading off with Holly Springs may be a tall order. Holly Springs will be limited due to the football playoffs, but I think the Hawks have enough fire power to handle the Spartans. Holly Springs lost 6 state qualifiers/placers to graduation from last year's team but look to have a strong team again this year. By season's end I expect Holly Springs to be one of the top teams from the east.

    Wake County should have some terrific wrestlers battling for a state championship this year in 4A. I can think of about 7-8 kids with a real shot at finishing at the TOP of the podium come February and another 12-15 looking to place. I would be so stoked to see 20-25 Wake County wrestlers placing at 4A states! I think it could happen.

    Yes, the 2015-16 wrestling season starts today. Sanderson's first home match will be against Holly Springs, a perennial foe.

    With the new season only 11 days away, what does 2016 have in store for us.

    I'm waiting to see the impact that Nick Shriner will have on the 2016 Sanderson Spartans.
