You are right give someone a chance. However, he took those jobs knowing they were not the most successful teams in the past. That was a choice he made, and it wasnt like he went into them as a young coach just trying to get his first job. He had plenty of experience from other avenues of football. The problem is alot of these younger coaches take a job to get there start but its a job nobody else wants. They do not do well but then want to say or have others say but yeah it wasnt like those jobs are great jobs.

He's already had 2 chances! Now he's on his 3rd chance! Give someone else a chance!

Look, it's not like East Columbus and South Brunswick were wildly successful before he got there. Give him a chance to see what he can do with the athletes in Wilson. But not winning at East Columbus and South Brunswick doesn't mean you're a bad coach. Those are tough situations.

How does a school make a move like this? I know. You know. Everyone knows! The pool of qualified and / or proven successful head coach candidates out there are more deserving of a chance to lead a high school football program. Instead the school and whomever thought it prudent to hire a 2x failed head coach with a losing career record at every school they ever led. If a head coach goes 30-75 after having the chance to lead two programs, he should take a timeout to figure some things out. Instead, a school looks at him and says "Yeah, you have the right stuff to lead us." Shame on the other school previously as well, they hired him after he went 1-21 at his first school. This is absolute broken science (BS). Make it make sense!

Rocky Lewis is the next head coach at Fike. South Brunswick is set to interview a handful of candidates on Thursday. Larry Brock will not be one of them, he decided that he does not want it.

Hunt officially announced that he is also leaving Clinton on his X account tonight. So we are up to five of these former Scotland guys: Johnson, Hunt, Cox, Tyson, and McFatten.

McFatten and Cox are going with Johnson to Marlboro County. Hiring Cox at this point has to be a red flag. That guy switches jobs as often as we do clothes...

With confirmation that Cory Johnson is leaving Clinton today, we have also seen public announcements of resignations by former Scotland coaches McFatten (former Lumberton coach/Clinton DC), Lonnie Cox (former Fairmont/UP coach), and Hashan Tyson (Chambers Associate HC/JV head). No one is talking to confirm their plans, so nothing is official, but hard to not connect the dots on these four uniting at Marlboro County should they receive approval from that board.

Have not heard anything about Ryan Hunt leaving Clinton. Is he going to try for the Clinton job?

Sosebee out at Crest. It's odd to see someone leave after a 13-1 overall season. My guess is that there was some kind of issue that the HC and admin did not see eye-to-eye on. Officially Sosebee is pursuing other opportunities.

I already heard that Greg Lloyd might make his way to Crest next year to teach social studies after one year as the head coach at Starmount. So this replacement seems obvious.

So it'll likely be Lloyd and Darrell Wilson teaming up at Crest to go against Kings Mountain and the South Carolina guys. Does it get juicier than that???

This is NOT confirmed, but that's my best guess.

McFatten steps down at Lumberton. Watch out for Cory Johnson, Ryan Hunt, and Dennis McFatten rejoining forces in South Carolina. Lot of success together at Clinton. Those guys will make more as assistants in SC than as head coaches in NC.

Hiring the new HC at Fike has been contentious and feelings have / will be hurt before the dust settles.

Look out for Larry Brock to be the next head coach at South Brunswick. Former head coach at North Brunswick and Western Harnett. He is an alum, on staff as the offensive line coach, and his son will be an upperclassman. Could be a matter of whether he wants it or not. But, it is a beach job and should have plenty of applicants for that reason should he choose to not pursue it.

Momentum is building for Cory Johnson to become the next head coach at Marlboro County SC. Of course, it's not official until it's official. Will Clinton promote Ryan Hunt or will Hunt go with Johnson? Would a current head coach jump for Clinton?

Hertford County is close to finally naming a permanent replacement at head coach. I think the school might be looking for a completely fresh start.

Ballantyne Ridge - Not sure when the official announcement will happen, but the staff will have multiple former CMS head coaches on it.

I believe that we will hear the new name at Fike in March.
