  The question of who is the greatest coach may be debatable. What is not debatable is that Dean contributed more to the game of basketball on and off the court that coach K(oward).

  Dean is a better overall Coach. Most of Coach K's win's and titles came after Coach Smith retried. Coach K is better than Coach Williams yes but not Dean.. Dean vs K's head to head, Dean wins. Ok lets look at the quality of NBA players produced. Not even close Dean's wins. And how about the Coaching tree from both coaches. Again its not even close Coach Smiths' is by far better. Coach K's tree is laughable actually.
